Daytona

I knew this girl that would travel all over

Looking for a place she wanted to be

Living a life like a Gypsy

Always needing to feel free

This girl ran away to Daytona Beach when she was young

Stayed for a while and then left the sun

Now this woman lies in this hotel bed

The drive to Daytona

Brought memories in her head

Thinking about her past

The young girl she left behind

Now it's time for the woman and the girl to meet

It wasn't hard this girl lives still inside of me

I want to tell her that's it's alright now

We are okay

It's time to say Good-Bye to our Gypsy ways

I found us a place to call home

But you will still feel free

It's time to make peace

With what once was

And

This woman to be

And

We can do it together

Here in Florida

I found us a place

Down by the sea

You will like it there

Because for us

Life has always been a beach

And

All those other places

Where just places

But

Nothing like the sea
